Whenever someone says indonesia , first thing comes to our mind is bali which is one of the top tourist destination in world ,

Today indonesia is nation of 87% of muslim majority but how many of you know that , once the indonesia  was hindu majority country where hinduism and budhhism was practised in each and everyday  life

But question pops in everyone's mind is 
How hindu majority country converted to islamic nation ? 
What is the present situation of indonesia and bali ?

• Lets start from 3rd century bc where south india was under the chola kingdom which has largest navy base at the time 

• In process of expansion cholas captured sri lanka , maldives , malaysia and finally they captured indonesia which is land of 17000 island   

•   Later hindu kings srivijaya ,shilandra , mataram ,majapahit and many kings ruled their kingdom by spreading the roots of hindu culture and tradition into the people of indonesia 

• It was in 10th to  12 century where indonesia started trades with india and also kings of indonesia gave shelter to  buddhists preachers and  by the end of 12th century , indonesia was completely the land of hindus and buddhists 

• Everything is fine and peace until arab sultans  started trade  in 13th century and it was sultan  malik al-ṣālih and sultan of malacca  iskandar shah who invaded indonesia by capturing islands 

• Like history says , these idiot  invaders have problem with  every other religion and they started destroying the monuments of hindu and buddist on the name of religion 

• Later these moron kings started imposing islam religon on people by forcing them to convert to islam , due to poverty and no other option left , many people in indonesia converted to islam and also there are  people who sacfriced their life on the name of dharma 

• And few people who dont wanted to convert to islam  started leaving muslim ruled island and shifted to bali , making bali island with  majority of hindus

• It was 16th century , again muslim rulers started to eye for bali but it was dutch who entered to indonesia by attacking muslim rurlers , 

• To fight against dutchs , sultans takes support of ottoman turks and  in support  ottoman turks fought with dutch in water but they could not stop dutch invasion in indonesia 

• Even tho dutch looted wealth , they supported all religions including hindu , muslim , christain by  giving  freedom of religion to every citizen by protecting hindu and buddhist monuments ,

• After freedom from dutch ,officially the republic of indonesia formed government and later government of indonesia started imposing islamic conversion on the people of bali 

• But with support of india government and dutch , people of bali formed autonomous government by protecting the culture of  hinduism  and buddhism  

• As per 2010 census , total population of hindus in indonesia  is just 1.7%  in which bali has 83% of hindus , which is one of the top tourist destinations in world 

•  In present day you can  find 1000’s of temples , hindu monuments , cultural music , art and also idols in every street of bali 

• But interesting thing is , there is no god or any idols inside  temples , yes you heard it right , people of indonesia built temples and special places inside temple   believing that their ancestor souls will visit temples everyday 

• And we can see , rama ,krishna , shiva and many idols inside temples in india but in bali we can see hindu gods and ancient hindu warriors like bheema  arjuna and not to forget buddha idols in  every street of island 

• And people of bali nerver pray any of these  idols because they placed these idols for cultural  representation of dharma protectors by designing city beautifully ,

• And when we talk about culture of these people , it is mandatory to wear dhoti before entering into temple and also they should take bath in temple wells like how indians does 

• With art and culture , people of bali give special importance to ramayana and mahabharata by chanting gayatri mantra  for 3 times a day 

• And in recent  archaeological evacuation , many ancient  idols and  shivalinga found which is said to be  from the time of  1st century , if we start looking into  the history of indonesia then we can proudly say that , it is connected deeply with  the culture of india  ,
